About Us

The Voice Over Studio, St Kilda is owned and operated by Steve Morgan. Steve emerged on the Australian music scene in 1986 when he joined ICEHOUSE recording and touring with the band for the next twenty years. As a session musician he has worked with many of Australia’s great artist’s including John Farnham, Kate Ceberano, Daryl Braithwaite, Tina Arena, Peter Andre and Tommy Emanuel.

In 1990 he stepped into the world of theatre as musical director of the hit musical HAIR. With a taste for rock musicals, Steve then joined the 1992 concert tour of Jesus Christ Superstar followed by The Sydney Dance Company’s “BERLIN”, The New Rocky Horror Show, and Smokey Joe’s Cafe.

In August 2006 Steve was awarded an ARIA for the induction of ICEHOUSE to the ARIA Hall of Fame.

Steve has been an instrumental teacher on the electric bass and guitar for over 25 years. In 1997 he began his time as a audio engineer at RB-X studios. For the last 15 years Steve has been a record producer and audio engineer at Rooftop Recording Studio in St Kilda Road, Melbourne, home to The Voice Over Studio.
